APS sends surveys out, I discuss with KRQE Channel 13

In the wake of a stinging rebuke at the hands of voters, Albuquerque Public Schools has sent surveys out to parents asking what they think the priorities of the district should be.

As I explain to Channel 13, it is a decent idea, but to be successful, the information needs to flow freely from APS to the parents and the community at large and where possible and if it will have a positive impact on APS’ core mission of improving education outcomes, the findings should be acted upon. As the parent of two students at APS schools I know that parents want to do what they can to improve student outcomes, but it has to be a two-way-street.
